[I:http://www.uniquearticlewizard.com/extras/pics/txt2getimage2.jpg]The future of internet is changing and fast. The world’s major players such as Google, Apple, Mozilla, Facebook, and Microsoft are all talking about HTML 5. However, whilst the world waits for the ‘next big thing’ in internet, some of us are asking if the ‘next big thing’ will be available on mobile? If the future of internet is HTML 5, then can one of today’s fastest growing markets keep pace in order to adopt the use of this innovative technology?
Although it has not yet been widely distributed, HTML 5 is actually already active on mobile phones and has been since 2010. In Q2 of 2010 and estimated 350 million phones were shipped with partial or complete support of the HTML 5 format. The recent development of HTML 5 aligns itself neatly with the latest focus of the mobile world, ‘the user experience’. Many may argue that developments are no longer necessary in mobile technology, that they already do enough, but recently the focus has not been on what mobile can do, but how well it can do it.
This thinking spurred the development of Mobile Cloud Computing. A system whereby the data storage and processing undertaken by an application, are executed from a remote location and not from the device that launched it. Mobile Cloud Computing also owes much of its inception due to the recognition of the growth of mobile usage. A recognition that estimates that by 2013 mobile will surpass PC as the preferred medium for web usage.
Not only is HTML 5 already available for mobile phones, but already ABI researchers and a Juniper Research report are agreeing on the fact that HTML 5 and mobile is going to thrive, and push the trend of Mobile Cloud Computing. HTML 5 will offer offline data caching, meaning cloud-based applications can operate much the same as their device-based counter parts: if the internet connection goes down, the application keeps on working. Canvas and Video will also be a feature allowing graphics and videos to be added to a page without the need for plug-ins and devices like the new dual-core mobile phones are already making huge advancements in graphics acceleration, faster Javascript engines and high performance processors.
So not only is HTML 5 already available for mobile phones, it is already in a rapid development stage, perpetuating the advancement of mobile technologies and continuing the mobile markets role as a revolutionary industry.
